Frightful Frequencies (#2)

Updated: Aug 20

Below is the 2nd story in my Haunted Storybook House series. If you missed the first, be sure to go back and read it, and see a picture of the house.

Trippin' Out

I was the proud owner of the most awesome pink radio you've ever seen (image below), a birthday gift from a few years prior. I used to strut around the house with it, tuning in to my favorite jams wherever I went. But one day, my sister, bless her clumsy soul, didn't spot the cord and tripped on it. The radio came crashing down, breaking the tuner dial (you know, the thing that tells you what station you're rocking out to). But hey, no biggie for me - as an old soul, I was always grooving to 93.7, the ultimate oldies station at that time. Who needs a tuner dial when you've got the world's best music on lock, am I right?

Payback Prank

My sister decided to unleash her revenge on me for that little mishap, and boy did she get creative! She started playing radio station roulette just to prank me. At first, I thought I'd play it cool and ignore her, but she just kept cranking up the annoyance dial. She'd twist that knob all the way to static land at 107.9, leaving me clueless about how far off track I was from my beloved 93.7. I had to rely on the DJ's announcements to guide me back, like a lost soul in a sea of frequencies. I scolded her countless times, but she just shrugged it off like a mischievous radio bandit. Oh, siblings, the ultimate pranksters!

Static Electricity

One evening, as I was diligently working on my homework in my bedroom, the radio suddenly switched to static mode out of the blue! With no one else around to witness this bizarre incident, I bravely rose from my seat to confront the mischievous radio. I thought, "Ah, it must be the neighboring station trying to crash our party again," so I attempted to adjust the dial to the right, only to realize it was stuck on 107.9...as if the radio had a mind of its own! In a moment of sheer disbelief, I scolded the radio, urging it to behave, suspecting some supernatural force at play. After a brief struggle, I managed to restore order and the radio never dared to pull such a stunt again.

Motherly Advice

When I recounted this peculiar tale to my dear mother, she casually dismissed it as a mere weather glitch. Ah, yes, the magical weather, known for its ability to shift radio frequencies by a whopping 14.2 stations! Oh, what a whimsical world we live in!
